KAPPA BOOKS HIS TICKET TO GAMRX

Rising teenage sensation Harry Kappa is Kenya’s #gamrX 2023 champion on FIFA23 after seeing off stiff competition from 31 other gamers during the qualifying round played at the Technical University of Kenya on April 1st, 2023.

The in form Kappa who has been finding himself too near yet too far, seems to have finally cracked the code required to win a major tournament.

Playing with AC Milan, he kicked off his campaign with an emphatic 8-3 Aggregate win over Glimo08 in the round of 32, before seeing off Ludovic 9-3 on aggregate in another demolition job at the round of 16.

He then won the quarterfinals by the skin of his teeth with a 6-5 aggregate score over Lord Moses in an entertaining encounter before holding his nerve to defeat MC 6-4 on aggregate in the semi finals.

In the finals, played on a best of three series, Kappa turned out in style proving too strong for Dheil. He won the first leg tie 4-0 before securing a 3-1 victory in the second tie, thus a third set was not needed.

The soft spoken gamer couldn’t hide his joy and promised to bring honors back home when he competes in Lagos, “I am very happy to clinch my first major title. I have really been waiting for this moment and working hard. Now that I have got the ticket to represent the nation, I promise to work even harder so that I may bring top honors for my country.”

He also thanked gamr for providing the opportunities to african gamers,

 “I would like to say a big thank you to the gamr. They are doing a good job by providing the African gamers with these opportunities. I urge them to continue doing so.”

The Mt. Kenya University student will now have two months to prepare for his debut at the international stage as the gamrX African championships are set for June 2023.
