ELIGUE 1 TOUR KENYA GRAND FINALS FIXTURES REVEALED
The stage is set for the #eLigue1Tour grand finals after the draw was conducted this afternoon, in Nairobi, Kenya. It shall be a contest of rookies against experienced gamers as the best 8 gamers battle for the ticket to represent Kenya in Paris, France.
Mt. Kenya University’s student Derrick “Derro” Maina shall kick off the finals with a tie against high schooler Emmanuel “taliban” Atak in quarter final one with the winner of that tie set to meet either of George Kimaru or Dennis “mbemba’ Musyoki from Mlolongo in the semis. Born and bred in Eldoret, Kimaru is the only surviving finalist from last year and it shall be interesting to see how he handles the big stage again.
Quarter Final three shall see Adrian “pokchop” Kariuki from Kahawa Sukari take on another Thika based gamer, Harry “kappa” Thuku while Eric “demon” Ngige of KCA University takes on Lennox “camzy’ Kuloba from Ngara, in the last quarter final.
IndexG Esports director of tournaments Sidney Maoga termed the draw an interesting one and called on fans to come in numbers for the live finals to be held at Alliance Francaise, Nairobi on March 11, 2023 starting 6:30 pm, “ This draw is an interesting one. You see very enticing match ups and we are really looking forward to producing a great competition for the fans. We call on them to attend the finals in numbers and to also stream live on YouTube if they cannot make it in person.”
The format of the finals shall be two legs for the quarter finals and two legs for the semi finals both of which shall be decided on aggregate scores, with the final being a best of three series.
