Kenya’s eligue1tour champion Eric “Demon” Ngige finally graced the eLigue1tour FIFA23 global finals in Paris, France, finishing seventh after putting up a determined performance.

The 22 year old ace who was making his debut on European soil started well, drawing 2-2 with Chams from Morocco, then beating Yagi from USA 4-2 and drawing 3-3 with Ittmbs from Saudi Arabia after coming from 3-0 down.

This put him in second place with five points and in pole position to qualify for the semis with three games to go. However, Demon would suffer back to back losses against Senegal’s Dexx jr (3-0), Brazil’s Dudu (3-1) and Romy from Ivory Coast, 2-1.

“I am happy to come all the way to Paris and compete with the best gamers from around the world. I did well in most games but my conversion of chances was not that good. I also had slow stats as in most games I was conceding first then having to come back. I will take the lessons here and improve my skills.”

IndexG Esports CEO said

“We are happy with Demon’s performance. The results do not tell the whole story as clearly, he was able to go toe to toe with the best players. For us, we shall continue to seek opportunities for Kenyan gamers to compete in as many international esports competitions as possible. We have the talent and we just have to give them more and more exposure”
